Oral minoxidil is not for anyone with a pheochromocytoma, a rare adrenal tumor. It needs care with heart disease, low blood pressure, kidney disease or fluid retention, and it is not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The tablet carries a boxed warning, written for blood pressure doses, about fluid around the heart and worsening chest pain. Biotin can throw off some blood tests, including thyroid and heart tests, so tell anyone who draws your blood that you take it. Vitamin K2 can weaken warfarin, so tell your care team if you take a blood thinner. Your physician reviews your full health history and every medicine you take before prescribing.

Lush Lox is compounded for you by a licensed US pharmacy, and the finished product is not FDA approved. Minoxidil widens small blood vessels. In the scalp it is thought to lengthen the hair growth phase and enlarge thinning follicles. Taking a low dose by mouth for hair loss is off label: the tablet is FDA approved for high blood pressure at higher doses. Biotin, vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 are added vitamins. Shedding can increase in the first weeks before new growth. Tell your care team about chest pain, shortness of breath or rapid weight gain from swelling.
