Is BPC-157 proven to heal tendons in humans?

FDA’s July 2026 BPC-157 evaluation reported that it identified no clinical studies in tendonitis. Animal or laboratory findings do not establish that an injection will repair a person’s tendon. 1, 2, 3

A useful tendon study would need a clearly identified product, a defined injury, an appropriate comparison, and outcomes such as function, recovery, and harms. Testimonials cannot answer those questions.

FDA describes limited safety information for BPC-157. Its July 2026 evaluation focused on ulcerative colitis; FDA did not evaluate tendonitis use because the nomination lacked sufficient information. This is not proof of tendon-healing benefit.

Why do animal studies get so much attention?

They can suggest biological mechanisms worth studying. Human tendon injuries differ in cause, severity, treatment, and rehabilitation, so a promising laboratory result is an early research signal.

What can I discuss with a clinician instead?

Ask about the diagnosis, whether imaging is useful, activity modification, rehabilitation, and the evidence for the treatments appropriate to that injury. A persistent injury deserves an assessment rather than a product promise.
