01 What they are

Your body's own messengers

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the signals your body already uses to tell its cells what to do.

Peptide questions, answered

Peptides are not one single thing under the law, so there is no single yes or no. A few are approved medications. Some are prepared by a licensed pharmacy for one person after a physician prescribes them. Separately, a large unregulated market sells peptides with no prescriber and no oversight. Sipra is a clinical pathway, not a store. A licensed physician decides whether peptide therapy is appropriate for you, and any preparation is handled by a licensed pharmacy. We cannot tell you that a specific peptide is legal to obtain on your own.

The gray market is self-serve. You pick a vial, you dose yourself, and no clinician ever reviews your health or what you actually received. Sourcing is often unverified. The clinical path is the opposite. A licensed physician reviews your history and decides whether peptide therapy makes sense for you, a licensed pharmacy prepares anything that is prescribed, and your care is followed over time. Sipra exists to be that path. It is not a place to shop for a compound.

Yes. When peptide therapy is appropriate, it is evaluated and prescribed by a licensed clinician, not chosen off a menu. Sipra connects you with a physician who reviews your health and your goals first. A prescription is never guaranteed. If it is not the right fit for you, your physician will tell you.

Those labels are a signal. They mean the material was not made, tested, or intended for people to use, and that no one stands behind it for human health. It is a way for sellers to move product while stepping around the rules that protect patients. A clinical pathway exists precisely to close that gap, with a physician involved in the decision and a licensed pharmacy preparing anything that is prescribed. Sipra does not work with research-only channels.

It helps to separate three things people often blend together. A small number of peptides are FDA-approved medications. Compounded peptides are prepared by a licensed pharmacy and are not FDA-approved, so they do not carry FDA-approved labeling. And the unregulated market sells peptides that are neither. Many of the peptides people ask about for wellness or longevity are not approved, which is exactly why they stay under a physician's management rather than on a shelf.

Every therapy carries risk, and peptides are no exception. For many peptides the long-term safety data is still limited. That is not a reason to panic, and it is not a reason to self-experiment. It is the reason a physician evaluates whether peptide therapy fits your health, reviews your history and any other medications, and monitors you over time. We will not tell you peptides are simply safe. We will tell you they deserve real medical oversight.

A legitimate pathway has names and licenses attached to it. There is a licensed prescriber who is accountable for the decision. There is a state-licensed pharmacy that prepares the medication for you specifically. And there is follow-up care. Anonymous vendors, no prescriber, and test results that cannot be traced are the warning signs. The question to ask is not which website looks trustworthy, but whether a real clinician and a licensed pharmacy stand behind what you are taking.

An FDA advisory committee is reviewing certain peptides, and some have been moved off an earlier restricted list. It is worth understanding what that does and does not mean. Removal from a restricted list is not the same as approval, and it does not automatically clear a peptide for compounding or sale. The picture is still settling. Sipra follows it closely and works only through licensed physicians and licensed pharmacies, whatever the outcome.

What you pay for on a clinical pathway is not just a compound. It is a physician's evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and preparation by a licensed pharmacy. The gray market looks cheaper because it leaves all of that out, along with the protections that come with it. Insurance generally does not cover peptides that are not FDA-approved. You are never charged until a physician reviews your information and approves a plan.

Honestly, that depends on you, and no one online can promise you a result. Outcomes vary from person to person, and peptides are not a shortcut around sleep, nutrition, movement, or the rest of your health. The right person to talk through what is realistic is the physician who reviews your history and goals. We would rather set an honest expectation than promise you a number.
